Membership
The doors of Power Ministries are always open to anyone who believes God is
leading them to become a member this body of believers.
The primary way to become a member of Power Ministries is to respond
to the altar call. At each of our Worship Services, during the altar call, an
invitation is extended to anyone desiring membership. By responding to the
altar call, you alert us of your interest in membership.
Membership at Power Ministries Church of God in Christ, Inc. means committing
to be an integral part of our faith community and includes certain benefits as
well as responsibilities. Whether you have visited with us only briefly or you
are a long-time visitor, when you are ready to take this very important step in
your faith journey, we want to help you make an informed decision. Therefore,
prior to membership, you may attend Member Orientation.
Member Orientation
Member Orientation is designed to help you understand what we believe, what
we teach and what we preach - so that you can make an informed decision about
membership. The sessions explore the different dimensions of membership in
our faith community and includes a discussion on the history, mission, and
values of the Church of God in Christ and Power Ministries.
Those attending the information session are not obligated to join Power Ministries
COGIC. However, this orientation is a requirement for membership, including
those transferring from other churches. Member Orientations are offered
throughout the year on Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
If you are interested in attending a Member Orientation, please contact
Dr. Arie Sailor at the Church Office 850/663-9444.
Getting Involved
Power Ministries has a place for everyone. We believe in divine connections.
A divine connection is when God brings people together for His purpose.
It is a partnership and fellowship in which every person has something to
offer and something to gain.
Power Ministries offers a host of lay ministry opportunities for you to use
your gifts and talents for the kingdom of God. We encourage you not to
be just a pew sitter but an active participant in the work that God is
doing through Power Ministries Church of God in Christ. Below is
a partial list of auxiliaries in the church, and we, indeed, encourage your
involvement: Bible Band, Choir, Youth Choir, Evangelism, Hospitality,
Men's Ministry, Newsletter Staff, Sunday School, Sunshine (youth) Band,
Usher Board, Youth Department, Purity (teen) Band, Women's Ministry.
In addition to auxiliaries, there are special programs and projects held
throughout the year which provide opportunity for further involvement in the
local church.
There are also activities at the district, state and national level that
provide additional opportunities for involvement and growth.
